I have no way to judge the accuracy of this internet speed testing app, but, if it is accurate, then it is a great app, because it’s fast, and it couldn’t be any simpler than it is…just click “START” and away it goes. Less than 2 minutes later you have the results….and oh, btw, my last two readings on downloading speed were 52.02 mbs and 47.07 mbs, so it does measure speeds higher than 40 mbs...

I bought this app because I wanted a free-standing speed test app independent of a browser. There is eithere something wrong with this app, or all of the browser-based apps are wrong. Five different browser-based speed test apps give me download speeds in excess of 100 mbps, most run between 110 and 130. The best speed this app has ever shown is 52 mbps, most are in the 20-30 mbps range. The app selects the server for testing but never shows where it’s located, so for all I know, it could be in Alaska or Moscow, which could account for the slow speeds. Bottom line, I’ll just go back to browser-based speed tests and chalk this one up to a few bucks down the toilet. Don’t waste your money.

As reported by others, this tool is not accurate. I have tested with several other internet based speed test web sites and they all show twice the performance that this app shows. It would be helpful if it showed what server it is testing against so at least you could try a couple of others to see if there was any difference.

Very weak app. No upload speed measures, only download. No history of measurements. Does not really worth the money .

I havent used this app in a few months although I’ve had it for years. Normally I really like it: simple. happy. fun. I just tried to use it for the first time on Yosemite. It immediately froze my pointer. The waiting dial fliped back and forth as if posessesd. Spinning wheel of death. I couldnt close it so i forced quit. Same problem on reopening. I logged out. logged back in and reopened. Then my whole system crashed. Next thing I knew the screen was at the login. I’ve rarely seen ANY software crash a mac before. Impressive feat!

The app works well on OSX 10.9.

this program is mostly geared to people who understand speed-test. I thought it might explain something. this has no manuel explaining how this works. i am so sick of these apps that charge money and can’t even give an explantion of the product. Don’t buy this.

I’m in Canada and it shows the server doing the test in Shanghi China! And you can’t change it! Don’t waste your money on this one…..I really wish I had not got it as I can’t even delete it or get rid of it!

This application probably tests something akin to "speed", presumably the download bandwidth, although it does not say anything about it. Unfortunately, for those of us having very different upload and download speeds, the application is a far cry from complete or useful. The maker should come up with an improved version of his ( her?) application that tests both variables separately and reports the two numbers. Some documentation would not be a waste either. As it stands now, I consider I spent money for nothing. There is an improved version and this last version is a vast improvement over the one I initially tried! It works well, measures the important parameters and the interface is quite stylish and easy to understand. Kudos to the developers

Downloaded the app. Started the app, clicked on ‘Start Test’ icon and nothing happened. Shut down the app and re-started. Still not working. Very disappointed. I am using Yosemite 10.10

Has an annoying dialogue box that eventually appears, forcing you to leave a rating.

A complete waste of money - app is not accurate at all. The app illustrates download speeds that are nearly twice the actual speed on my mac computer. Upload speed measurements are even worse - shows nearly 3 times the actual speed. The app itself looks & operates great but if its not accurate whats the sense?? Maybe a update will help but as of now, save your ca$h.

I agree with the previous reviewer and should had taken the advice being given. Too much slick but not impressed.

I have five utilities, two internet based, to measure my internet speed. Four tell me my download speed is 60 MBPS +-1%. This utility says 30MBPS. Don’t buy it.

Used to work. Pressing Start does nothing now. C’mon people!

This is still DOA and doesn’t launch. I really don’t know what the problem is as it’s been frozen since last update.

It is now not working. Either fix it or I want my money back.

There is no way to choose the server closest to where you live. This app is a total waste of time and money, and the developer needs to give his head a shake!!!
